“I am writing this letter to first and foremost to thank “Mission K9 Warrior “ for the work they have done for me and the work they continue to do for other fellow veterans. I definitely thank the staff that had helped train my dog Billy. I first heard about Mission K9 through a fellow veteran at the VA that was in the mental health clinic with me receiving help for PTSD. We were able to relate on a lot of experiences and issues, and he handed me the Mission K9 Warrior card. I didn’t know at that time, but my life would change forever after that day.
I am a decorated Combat veteran that served 2 tours in Afghanistan, and a Private Military Contractor with the Department of State with over 15 tours to Iraq. I am now fully disabled, going to VA appointments daily and have spent the last year in and out of the hospital dealing with health issues, and over 10 years have struggled with night terrors, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Severe Anxiety Disorder, socially awkwardness. Traumatic Brain Injury and recovering from alcoholism. This program and my dog (my best friend) has literally saved my life. I would more than likely be dead without it and I know I’m not the only veteran that can say the same. Without this program I would not have Billy trained and alerting on issues and respond accordingly to bring me back into reality. I would not be able to sit here and say “I am now recovering from alcohol. I would not have mans best friend by my side when I needed him the most. I couldn’t be more grateful for all the help from Mission K9 and the people that had worked tirelessly to train my dog and many other veterans dogs. This program has changed my life for the better and I’m looking forward to each day I get to be with him. Billy is a full blooded English Bulldog with an amazing spirit and incredible capabilities. He continues to amaze me everyday and I can’t imagine my life without him.

“BIGFOOT has been my buddy for 3 years 7months now. He is my shadow 24 7 .I am the oldest vet privileged to have a dog. Since day one he has been amazing. Second day he was here I was asleep next thing I know he was beating my chest with his feet and trying to lick my face off to wake me up. I can't begin to tell you how many times he has brought me back to reality.
He is so good at his job sometimes its hard to believe.
Personally I take only one low power slow pill a day instead of 6 I was taking before BIGFOOT. It has been such a blessing to have him I can't imagine life without him now. I pray a lot for the dog program and that GOD will bless it and everyone involved.
GOD BLESS
Karl”
